Thomas Frank has just made a bold prediction about what could happen in the race for the Premier League title following Brentford’s defeat to Arsenal.

Arsenal came from behind to comfortably win away in West London and become just the second team to win at the G-Tech Stadium in the league this season. Goals from Gabriel Jesus, Mikel Merino and Gabriel Martinelli handed Mikel Arteta’s side all three points.

The victory closed the gap back down to six points in the race for the title and the Brentford boss has made a big prediction about Arne Slot’s team.

Thomas Frank claims Liverpool will drop points and Arsenal could capitalise

Thomas Frank insists that Liverpool will falter at some stage and is backing Arsenal to take advantage when they do. The Gunners find themselves six points behind and having played a game more, however, the Reds have been perfect so far and they are bound to slip up at some stage.

The Brentford boss claims that the North London club’s ability to pick up points even when they’re not at their best will stand them in good stead in the race. Arteta’s team have been quietly putting together a strong run of form in the league and are now undefeated in nine matches.

Arsenal will travel to Anfield on May 10 in a game that will surely have huge implications for the Premier League title race. Frank told Sky Sports: “It’s a long season. I understand why Arne Slot is saying, ‘We haven’t won anything yet’. Liverpool haven’t had a dip yet and that will most likely come, and Arsenal are picking up points when they’re not fully firing. It will go right to the end.”

Mikel Arteta set his Arsenal players a challenge

Arteta has told his team not to focus on what Liverpool are doing and has challenged his team to just focus on winning games. After the game, Arteta told the media: “We can only win our next match and see what happens. It’s not in our hands, but what is in our hands we need to make sure we do it.”

Next up for the two title rivals is Manchester United at home for the Reds, meanwhile, the Gunners are away at Brighton. Slot’s team will be confident of getting another three points given how poor United have been recently and Arsenal should beat a Brighton side who haven’t won seven matches.
