Jones, 29, is out of contract at the end of the season. He is due to become a free agent in the summer as things stand.

He has made 18 appearances in all competitions so far in this campaign, 17 of which have come in the league, and he has scored one goal. His side are currently sat in 11th place in the table and are seven points off the play-offs.

In this latest update regarding his situation, Football League World have claimed that the Addicks have batted away a bid from the Chairboys for his services after they deemed it to be too low.

The Plymouth-born man was on the books at Plymouth Argyle before Liverpool signed him as a youngster.

He then had permanent stints at Luton TownNorthampton Town and Cambridge United before his move to his current club.

When asked about his future, his boss Nathan Jones has said, as per a report by London News Online“Look, what I’m saying is if anyone wants to come in for Lloyd Jones – he’s a prized asset for us. We’re ongoing in terms of contract talks. He’s another one that’s actually found a home.

I signed him for Luton and working with him. He was a lot younger than he is now and we had two real excellent, experienced, serial promotion-winning centre-halves in our team at the time. So I’ve got a chance to work with him again.

“He’s really found a home in everything here now. So, look, we want to make it a longer-term home for him. That’s ongoing.”

What now for Lloyd Jones at Charlton Athletic?

Time will tell whether Wycombe Wanderers come in again for Jones.

Charlton Athletic have a decision to make regarding his long-term future at The Valley.
