Birmingham City man Keshi Anderson is excited to be part of the journey up the leagues after penning a new deal with the club.

Birmingham City are a club hoping to embark on an upward journey after relegation from the Championship.

The Blues maintain high ambitions for the future despite their drop to League One. The owners have put their money where their mouth is and backed Chris Davies with a sizeable rebuild of the playing squad at St. Andrew’s too.

Few players who were on the books last season are still onboard, but among them is Keshi Anderson.

The versatile attacker joined on a free transfer after the expiry of his Blackpool deal and has gone on to play 34 times for the club since, chipping in with one goal and three assists in the procoess.

Anderson has found a decent amount of game time in the early stages of the 2024/25 campaign and Birmingham City have moved to reward him for his efforts. A new deal was announced on Wednesday, keeping the 29-year-old onboard until the summer of 2026.

Anderson offered his reaction to the news, expressing his delight at the decision to keep him onboard for the exciting journey as they look to rise to the Championship and potentially even higher. Speaking to the Birmingham City media channels, he said:

“I am very happy.

“Obviously, the way the club is going, the journey that we are on, it is somewhere that you want to be.

“With everything that’s happened last year, with getting relegated, I want to be part of us getting back to where the club belongs and if not even higher.”
