Hibernian are ‘aware’ of interest in Stevenage-linked Jojo Wollacott but are yet to receive a ‘concrete’ offer for him, as per a report by the Edinburgh Evening News.

Stevenage are reportedly keen to lure the goalkeeper back down to England as they hunt for some new signings. According to journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon, they are in talks with the player regarding a potential move.

Wollacott, 27, moved up to Edinburgh last year but has only played seven games in all competitions for the Scottish Premiership outfit. He penned a three-year deal but has slipped down the pecking order following the arrival of former Stoke City man Joe Bursik on loan from Club Brugge.

In this latest update regarding his situation by the Edinburgh Evening News, Hibs ‘could’ let him head out the exit door for a new challenge elsewhere. They have turned to David Gray as their new boss after deciding to sack former Sheffield United man Nick Montgomery.

Latest on Stevenage target

Stevenage could see Wollacott as someone to bolster their goalkeeping department and challenge for their number one spot.

Leaving Hibs would make sense for him and a switch to Hertfordshire would suit all parties involved in this one.

The Ghana international, who has 11 caps to his name, rose up through the academy ranks at Bristol City but never made a senior appearance for the Championship side.

Instead, he picked up experience away from Ashton Gate during loan spells at Weymouth, Bath City, Woking, Truro City, Forest Green Rovers and Swindon Town.

The latter then snapped him up permanently in 2021 and he went on to make 41 appearances for the Robins in all competitions.

Charlton Athletic lured him up to the third tier in 2022 and he played 20 matches for the Addicks altogether before he left for Hibs.

What next for Stevenage?

It appears Stevenage have not made an official approach for Wollacott yet as they prepare for the new League One campaign.

They have turned to Alex Revell as their new permanent boss following Steve Evans’ exit to Rotherham United.
