Liverpool continued their superb start to life under Arne Slot with a battling 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Diogo Jota was the Liverpool hero, with the Reds attacker turning home a Kostas Tsimikas cross in the ninth minute.

Slot now has nine wins from his first 10 matches in charge, the first Anfield manager to achieve such a record.

Along with their six Premier League wins, Liverpool have also picked up victories in the League Cup and Champions League.

The sole defeat came in a shock 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest at Anfield, although Slot has certainly recovered from that loss.

Kris Boyd suggests he has changed his mind about Arne Slot at Liverpool

Alan Shearer and Micah Richards have praised Slot for the job he has done at Liverpool, with their fellow pundit Kris Boyd also impressed by the Reds after suggesting he has changed his mind about the Dutchman.

Asked on Soccer Saturday how many teams are realistically in the title race, Boyd replied: "The three of them. I think Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal.

"I was probably… well, I didn’t write them off because you felt as if Liverpool would get the top four, and you know maybe get further up, but they’ve started well. But you look at their fixtures that are coming up, Chelsea, Arsenal in there, Brighton twice, obviously one in the cup as well, [Aston] Villa, [Man] City, Newcastle and then the derby against Everton, which will be three points anyway.

"But they've some difficult games coming up, obviously Real Madrid in there as well, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen. They are tough games coming up, we'll know more about Liverpool in the next few months I would say.

"But they've got a squad, even if somebody’s not performing, we saw it a few weeks ago, he changed up the striker role. Jota has come back in and obviously he's got himself on the score sheet today. But I think Liverpool will run the two of them very close this year, but Arsenal and Man City might just have too much come the end."

How will Liverpool boss Arne Slot deal with the tough schedule?

Slot knows himself that a really tricky test has yet to arrive in his Liverpool tenure, even with matches against the likes of fierce rivals Man United and Italian giants AC Milan.

That will, however, all change after the upcoming international break, with the difficult fixtures arriving thick and fast.

Slot will need to rotate his squad expertly across the various competitions, which has been made harder by the injury issues suffered against the Eagles.

Both Alisson and Alexis Mac Allister went off injured at Crystal Palace, in what are certain to be huge blows to the Reds.

The duo have been key under Slot so far, with the manager now needing to fill their absences, although it does remain to be seen how long they will be out of action for.
