This season is shaping up to be Liverpool’s best chance at winning a second Premier League title and there’s a player on the market in January who can ensure that title comes home.

The Reds are top of the table and with Arsenal and Man City both faltering this term and looking vulnerable, Arne Slot will be keen to see his team keep up their momentum.

Of course, Slot is very much dealing with the same squad Jurgen Klopp had, barring the potentially departing Federico Chiesa, and he’ll feel Liverpool are close to doing something big.

Naturally, with the January window around the corner and the likes of Arsenal and City no doubt looking to strengthen, Liverpool will need to keep pace.

And it what could be a stunning twist, Liverpool could actually seal the title themselves by snatching away one of Arsenal’s long-term dream signings.

The Reds are flying at the moment and have a number of players who can score goals in the forward areas.

However, like Arsenal – and City if Erling Haaland is out – that real out and out number nine is missing and even though Darwin Nunez can do the role, some of his best displays have been from wider.

Step forward Dusan Vlahovic.

Journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed that Arsenal are once again considering Vlahovic in January and crucially, Juventus are already planning for life without him.

Vlahovic can be Liverpool’s battering ram

Over the course of a long season, there are going to be games where a different option is needed and Dusan Vlahovic has qualities few at Liverpool have.

As well as being ‘lightning‘ fast, Vlahovic is also a bit of an attacking unit and stands at the six foot mark.

Interestingly as well, Vlahovic has even been touted as being as good as Erling Haaland, which is quite the compliment in modern football.

"If I were Guardiola and they told me, 'You would make the exchange between Vlahovic and Haaland', I would do it easily. Dusan has nothing to envy the Norwegian,” Juventus legend Giovanni Galli has said.

"At Juve, he must take advantage of the few opportunities that come his way because the Bianconeri are not a team that doesn't grind out play like City who have 10 chances per game.

"Yet Vlahovic already has 12 goals despite everything. I'd like to see him in a more attacking team. If he were at Manchester City, he would also score 50 goals a season like Haaland. I'm sure."

There have been suggestions Juve might want around £70m to sell Vlahovic but given than was at the beginning of 2024, that price may well have dropped.

A move to Anfield, then, might well ignite Vlahovic and in turn, deliver Liverpool the title before Arsenal and City can even make a run at it.
