'Something else for you': Curtis Jones hits back on social media with veiled Mohamed Salah message

Like most fanbases, Liverpool supporters can be a tetchy bunch online.
The Reds have had little to complain about this season, with Arne Slot firing them to the top of every table possible.
However, there is always something which is sending supporters into a frenzy on social media.
Recently, Curtis Jones unfortunately poked the bear with some potentially ill-judged comments on who he thought was the better player – Mohamed Salah or Eden Hazard.
“I know this might go a little bit left with our fans because the comparison is always there, but Hazard is the one,” Jones told Rio Ferdinand for TNT Sports when asked which of the two players he’d pay to watch.
Inevitably, some were not happy with Jones’ comments. But after he set up Salah for a goal against Lille on Tuesday, the Liverpool academy graduate has hit back.
Curtis Jones hits back after Mohamed Salah claim
After the furore that Jones caused with his comments, he was always going to link up with Salah in the very next game.
It was a superb pass from the Scouser as well, and Mo gobbled it up to become the first player to score 50 European goals in Liverpool’s history.
It wasn’t the assist which necessarily had people talking, however, it was the celebration which followed.
With Salah sitting on the Anfield Road advertising hoardings to enjoy his moment with the fans, Jones came to sit alongside him, outstretching his arms.

It was a great image, and Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez then plonked themselves next to Mo to make it even better.
Likely knowing that his actions would cause yet more conversation, Jones took to his Instagram stories on Wednesday to post a snapshot of himself next to Salah.
“Something else for you to speak about,” wrote the 23-year-old, with a well-placed yawning emoji.
Liverpool waiting on Jones injury
As well as providing a key moment towards the win, Jones picked up an injury on Tuesday.
The midfielder has been a little off it of late and the sight of him being substituted off with a knock is an all-too familiar one.
With the Liverpool fixture list so hectic right now, it seems probable that the Reds will not take any chances with Jones for Saturday’s game with Ipswich.
The midweek clash with PSV Eindhoven has little riding on it, too, so if there is a problem with Jones then he could well miss that one as well.
For now, there is no clear update on the severity of the issue, but in the meantime Curtis is certainly doing plenty of talking off the pitch.
