Watford want to sign new Udinese signing Egil Selvik in the winter market, according to reports from Italy.
On January 10th, the goalkeeper joined the Serie A side from FK Haugesund and Watford now want to take him on a permanent transfer.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Watford are ‘closing in’ on a deal with Udinese for the 27-year-old’s transfer.
They make no mention of the figures Watford will offer or if the stopper is willing to join the Championship side. The two clubs are owned by the Pozzo family, and this would have made it easier for the Hornets to negotiate Selvik’s transfer.
Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state that Watford are a concrete possibility for Selvik. He further adds the Norway international’s approval is ‘missing’ for the Hornets to sign him.
Di Marzio’s report is relayed by Tutto Udinese, who then provide their own take on this case.
They state once Udinese reach a final agreement with Watford for Selvik, they will try to convince Como to sanction a move for Emil Audero. The report makes it clear the two operations aren’t interconnected.
