Leeds United are in the picture to sign FC Nordsjælland’s Daniel Svensson.

The left-back joined Nordsjælland from Swedish side IF Brommapojkarna in 2021 and cemented his place since 2023. His recent performances have caught the attention of Leeds and RB Leipzig.

That’s according to Sky Deutschland journalist Philipp Hinze, and he took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide an update on Leipzig.

He claims the 22-year-old has ended up on the Bundesliga side’s list and they have held initial talks. Hinze doesn’t specify if these discussions were held with the Danish club, the fullback or both.

Leipzig defeated Sporting 2-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday and the journalist claims their interest in Svensson isn’t hot yet. He then mentions Daniel Farke’s side as they are interested in the Sweden international.

With Leipzig not so keen, Leeds have a chance to get ahead by tabling an offer in the winter market. The fullback has a contract lasting until 2027 and Hinze claims he’s valued at around €6-7m.

Leeds’ Junior Firpo has less than six months left on his contract and Real Betis are keen on bringing him back to the club. If he were to leave in January or in the summer, the Whites could consider a move for Svensson.
