Luton Town midfielder Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu is wanted by Rotherham United on a permanent basis, their boss Steve Evans has said.
Luton Town let the former DR Congo international join the Millers on loan in January. LTFC have a decision to make regarding his long-term future at Kenilworth Road.
Ruddock-Mpanzu, 30, has made seven appearances for the League One side since his winter switch. They are sat in 14th place in the table with 11 fixtures left to play.
Evans has said, as per a report by the Rotherham Advertiser: “Pelly is a really good guy, a big family man. He’s certainly telling myself and the staff and his family that he’s loving every minute of his time here. We’ll let him continue to love his football and then we’ll worry about what the chairman and the board and Rob do as we get into April. At the appropriate time, if it’s right for us to do so, we’ll have a chat with him.”
Luton Town latest regarding Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu
Luton Town gave Ruddock Mpanzu the green light to join Rotherham United temporarily to get some game time.
He has been with the Hatters since 2013 and he has been a great servant to the Bedfordshire outfit.
They have risen from the National League to the Premier League during his time on their books.
The London-born man has played 410 matches for Luton Town to date, 10 of which have come in this campaign, and he has scored 23 goals.
They slipped out of the top flight last year after finishing in the bottom three with Burnley and Sheffield United.
However, the Hatters have struggled to adapt to life back in the Football League and are fighting to stay up in the second tier under Matt Bloomfield.
Prior to joining them, Ruddock Mpanzu started out at West Ham at academy level before dropping into non-league at Boreham Wood.
What now for Luton Town and Rotherham United loanee Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu?
Time will tell whether Rotherham United will be able to land Ruddock Mpanzu full-time.
It has been a frustrating term for the Millers and they will be hoping for much better next time around.
They may well be in the same league as Luton Town next season if the Hatters go down. They are in the bottom three right now along with Plymouth Argule and Derby County.
