Nantes re-ignite talks with Sérgio Conceição but Antoine Kombouaré earns stay of execution

The managerial situation at FC Nantes remains unresolved. Antoine Kombouaré has been hanging onto his job for the past few weeks, but after a 4-1 defeat to Stade Brestois at the weekend, he is now hanging on by just a thread.
As reported by L’Équipe, Komobouaré is set to remain in charge as Les Canaris prepare to take on fourth-tier side La Jeane d’Arc de Drancy in the Coupe de France this weekend. It is Nantes’ final match before a short winter break with Ligue 1 making its return in early January.
However, his position beyond the weekend is a lot more uncertain. As reported by L’Équipe, talks with former manager Sérgio Conceição were re-ignited on Sunday, although there remains a way to go until any deal has been reached. However, the Kita’s intentions at Nantes now look clear – if Conceição can be convinced to return to the club, Kombouaré will be replaced. The former has been on the market since leaving FC Porto in the summer.
