Liverpool continued their Premier League title push under Arne Slot with a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

Diogo Jota was on target for Liverpool, with the Reds attacker firing home from a Kostas Tsimikas cross in the ninth minute.

Arne Slot has now become the first Liverpool manager to win nine of their first 10 games in charge, with the club remaining top of the table.

A total of 18 points have been secured by the Anfield side from their first seven Premier League games, with six wins and one loss so far.

Man City and Arsenal meanwhile are both just a point behind the leaders, with a thrilling title race already underway.

Michael Owen praises Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas

Joe Cole loved Jota's movement against Crystal Palace, and while his fellow pundit Michael Owen was also impressed by the attacker, the work from £12million defender Tsimikas in the build-up also really caught his eye.

"That was a brilliant ball, but [Daniel] Munoz is totally ball-watching," Owen told the Premier League website. "Brilliant ball from Tsimikas.

"A lot of wide players might take another touch because they can't see anyone in the middle – don't. Don't do it.

"You put the ball into a dangerous area and it's down to the attacker to time a run, nip in front of the defender just at the right time and he did it perfectly."

Kostas Tsimikas proves his worth to Arne Slot

Tsimikas almost left Liverpool in the summer, but fortunately he has remained at Anfield, allowing breathing space for Andy Robertson.

Joe Gomez often occupied the left-back spot under Jurgen Klopp in Roberton's absence last season, but it seems that Slot has faith in the Greek left-back.

He certainly wasn't perfect at Selhurst Park, but Tsimikas impressed at both ends before being replaced by Roberton with just over 10 minutes remaining.

His defensive efforts helped Liverpool keep another clean sheet under Slot, with his assist for Jota proving crucial.

Tsimikas can now expect plenty more starts in the months to come given the real need to constantly rotate amid the busy schedule.
