Last week, we covered claims from Germany which stated Borussia Dortmund have included Chelsea’s Renato Veiga and Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko in their target list for the winter market.
According to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, BVB have decided to bet on the Chelsea player.
He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state that BVB have already sent an official offer to Chelsea for the left-back.
The Bundesliga side will offer a loan fee to the Blues, and will cover the 21-year-old’s full salary during his temporary stay. In addition to this, there is also an option to make the Portugal international’s stay permanent.
Plettenberg hasn’t mentioned the figure for the buying option or whether the player and Chelsea are willing to accept this offer. If the Premier League side were to turn down the German club’s proposal for Veiga, they will shift their focus to Zinchenko.
Veiga arrived at Chelsea from FC Basel last summer and has been limited to 176 minutes in the Premier League from seven games. Enzo Maresca has regularly used the fullback in the UEFA Conference League and the two domestic cup competitions.
