Charlton Athletic boss Nathan Jones has said Josh Edwards went off against Crawley Town with ‘stiffness’ and ‘fatigue’.

Charlton Athletic substituted the defender during their game against the Red Devils on Tuesday night. CAFC won 1-0 with Thierry Small getting their winner.

Edwards, 24, has been a regular for the Addicks this season. He has made 35 appearances in all competitions, 30 of which have come in the league, and he has chipped in with two goals and four assists.

Jones has shared this update on his condition, as per a report by London News Online: “The boy does massive shifts and he has played almost every game. Just stiffness, in terms of his groin and he is feeling that. It’s fatigue – the games are coming thick and fast. It is a relentless league, League One, and you get no respite.

“At times pitches are heavy, not like the Premier League where everything is a plush carpet. It is just the way it is.”
