According to a report from RMC Sport, discussions have taken place between Olympique de Marseille and Lilian Brassier (25) over a possible exit in the upcoming transfer window. The French outlet writes that Brassier could be allowed to leave on loan with an option to buy.
The centre-back only joined Marseille this summer from Stade Brestois but has struggled to adjust to life in the south of France. He has had several unconvincing performances for the club, most notably, in the 3-1 home defeat to AJ Auxerre on the 8th of November.
Brassier was at fault for the first goal conceded when he misjudged the flight of the ball and fell to the floor allowing Lassine Sinayoko to slip past and open the scoring. His every subsequent touch was whistled by the Marseille faithful and when he was substituted in the second half he left the pitch to resounding boos from the Stade Vélodrome.
Lilian Brassier unable to cope with pressure cooker environment?
Since then, the defender has not started again for Roberto De Zerbi. And RMC Sport alleges that the Marseille hierarchy have concerns that the centre-back has the mental strength to cope with the pressure that comes with the club.
