Report: Liverpool have already been told an offer is coming for their £59m player in the next few months

FC Barcelona have been rumoured with a move for Luis Diaz for some time, with Liverpool struggling to tie the winger down to a new contract.
The Colombian international has 18 months left on his current deal with Diaz not pleased with Liverpool’s contract offers in recent weeks, with the Reds also trying to organise the futures of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
As a result, Barcelona are convinced they can land Diaz later this summer when the forward’s contract has one year remaining, even with the La Liga giants once again in big financial problems this January having spent heavily in recent transfer windows.
And Barcelona have now seemingly told Liverpool what they plan to do about their interest in Diaz.
Barcelona tell Liverpool to prepare for £59m Diaz offer
According to Antena 2, Barcelona have alerted Liverpool already that they plan to table an offer worth €70m (£59m) for Diaz, with the Catalan giants also putting pressure on the Anfield side to sell the winger this summer rather than risk potentially losing him for free in 2026.
With Barcelona also interested in signing Mohamed Salah, Hansi Flick’s side intent on adding a Liverpool winger to their ranks this summer, even with the Camp Nou side having quite an impressive array of attacking options to choose from.
However, Barcelona are seemingly stopping at nothing to sign Diaz this year, a club the Colombian international could jump at to join given how bid the La Liga giants are and the appeal they have on every player.
Indeed, Liverpool face an uphill battle to keep hold of Diaz beyond his current contract, and Barcelona’s latest ploy to bring the winger to Catalonia could end up paying off if the Reds once again procrastinate over handing a key player a new contract.
What other attackers could leave Liverpool this summer?
Liverpool might have the best selection of attackers out of any side in Europe, yet there’s a real risk that this band of players might be disbanded in a big way heading into the summer transfer window.
Salah is yet to sign a new Liverpool contract with the winger’s current deal set to expire at the end of this season, with the Egyptian’s potential exit something that the Reds will struggle to cope with if a compromise isn’t reached.
Darwin Nunez is also rumoured with a Liverpool exit this summer, with the Uruguay international still struggling to reach the heights many expected from the 25-year-old attacker nearly three years after the striker was signed by Jurgen Klopp.
