Trafford on the spot against Sunderland
I don't think it will come as any surprise to hear that James Trafford won both the man of the match and the player ratings in last Friday's 0-0 home draw against Sunderland.
Two penalty saves, one close to the end of ninety minutes, and one in stoppage time, ensured we came out with a point as the crowd chanted his name. Prior to that, in terms of any saves, he'd had very little to do.
There was no doubt he was going to win both and he has run away with them, particularly for the man of the match where he pulled in a massive 83% of the vote. And, as is often the case, the two central defenders were right up there. This time Maxime Estève was second with 9% and CJ Egan-Riley third with 3%. Jaidon Anthony took fourth place with 2% of the vote.
Again, in the ratings, Trafford was way ahead, recording a rating of 9.72 out of ten. Estève and Egan-Riley were again second and third with 8.13 and 8.02 respectively. Some way behind, Josh Cullen took fourth place with a rating of 6.91 out of ten.
It's a maximum ten points for Trafford towards the Up the Clarets Player of the Year with six points for Estève and four points for Egan-Riley while both Anthony and Cullen win one point.
That has extended Estève's lead over Egan-Riley at the top to eleven points but the big change is in the group below with Trafford jumping into third place ahead of Josh Brownhill.
The next vote will be underway tonight following the game at Plymouth.
