Leeds United are in the picture to sign TSG Hoffenheim’s Mergim Berisha, who has been offered to West Ham United.
On Thursday, Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg stated the 26-year-old was recently offered to West Ham, but they rejected him.
West Ham’s snub can allow Leeds to try and sign the striker in the winter market. That’s at least what Sky are reporting, relayed by Laola1, and they cover the Whites’ interest in Berisha.
The Germany international joined the Bundesliga side from FC Augsburg in August 2023 and clocked in 743 minutes from 24 games since then of which 17 are from this season.
He found it difficult to contribute with goals [has scored once] when given opportunities and is looking to change clubs in January. Hoffenheim are also in favour of the frontman’s exit as their decision to invest €14m to buy him has clearly not paid off.
Leeds and Werder Bremen are said have shown interest in Berisha and are joined by AC Monzo in the transfer race. According to the report, he could leave Hoffenheim via a loan deal with an option to buy.
