Farewell, Zain
AFC Bournemouth left Chelsea with a point earlier this week, and apparently a new player as well, with the clubs announcing the transfer of young Zain Silcott-Duberry today.
The 19-year-old winger joins the Cherries on a (reporteD) 3.5-year professional contract, having spent the past six years at Cobham after joining us from Norwich City's academy in 2017. It looks like he will join their Development Squad for now, with a view towards making his professional debut earlier than he might have with us. He's the second Chelsea Academy player to make this exact move this month, after goalkeeper Kai Crampton signed with the Cherries a couple weeks ago.
"I am delighted. It's a new journey for me, which is important. I'm a firm believer in being ambitious and being yourself, and exploring to have the best career, so here I am.
"You see the portfolio of what the club is building. That helped me, as well as seeing young players making debuts as well. There's an opportunity to look in the mirror and say 'this could be you, if you go for it and work for it' and that's what I'm here to do.
"I want to be open to learn, to help myself become a better player and get better day-by-day."

Silcott-Duberry was a first-team regular for the Development Squad last year, playing mostly on the right wing, but has not played much this season, with just a couple substitute appearances to his name in the PL2.
Farewell and good luck, Zain!
P.S.: Yes, as far as I can tell, Zain is the son of former Chelsea defender Michael Duberry!
