Hull City are poised to sign Blackpool striker Kyle Joseph for a fee believed to be in the region of £2.5million, according to a report by HullLive.
Hull City are set to lure the attacker to the Championship this winter. They have delved into the transfer market to bring in Matt Crooks, Joe Gelhardt and Nordin Amrabat so far this month as they hunt for more new faces.
Joseph, 23, has scored seven goals in 29 games in all competitions for Blackpool so far this season. He is under contract at Bloomfield Road until the summer of 2026.
In this latest update regarding his situation by HullLive, the Tigers have made a ‘breakthrough’ in talks with the player and he is now expected to secure his switch to the MKM Stadium. He was left out of the Seasiders’ squad for their draw against Huddersfield Town this weekend.
Hull City are sat in 21st place in the Championship table after their 1-0 away win at Millwall.
Hull City set to sign Kyle Joseph from Blackpool
Hull City could see Joseph as someone to boost their striking options.
The ex-Scotland youth international has been at Blackpoolsince joining them back in 2023.
After making the switch to Bloomfield Road, he told the Seasiders’ website: “This is a move I was really keen on getting done and I’m so pleased to be here.
“The Head Coach made it clear to me how much he wanted me to come here. With such an exciting project here at the Club as well, it feels like a really good fit. I want to progress further and help this Club succeed, so I can’t wait to get started.”
Joseph has been in decent form over recent times and it will be a blow for Steve Bruce’s side to lose him mid-way through a campaign.
He rose up through the academy at Wigan Athletic along with Gelhardt and Charlie Hughes and went on to play 20 games for the Latics’ first-team as a teenager, chipping in with five goals.
The London-born man was then snapped up by Swansea Cityin 2021 but struggled to break into their senior team.
Instead, he was loaned out to Cheltenham Town and Oxford United in the third tier to get some experience before Blackpool came calling on a permanent basis.
What now for Hull City target Kyle Joseph?
It appears Hull City have got their man as they look to secure their second tier status.
The Tigers are back in action on Tuesday night at home to QPR.
