Rotherham United loanee Dan Gore could return in April, their boss Steve Evans has said.
Rotherham United landed the midfielder on loan from Manchester United in the January transfer window. He linked up with RUFC on a temporary deal until the end of the season.
Gore, 20, played one match for the Millers before being struck down with a foot injury. He has since returned to Old Trafford for treatment.
In this latest update regarding his condition, Evans has said, as per a report by the Rotherham Advertiser: “We’re hopeful we’ll see him playing April football. The Man United staff have spoken to our medical staff and said they’re hopeful that will be the case. I’m keen for our supporters to see the player who we worked so hard to get.”
Rotherham United lost 3-2 at home to Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday night. Louie Sibley and Jonson Clarke-Harris got their goals.
Rotherham United injury update regarding Dan Gore
Rotherham United brought in Gore to boost their option in the middle of the park earlier this winter.
Manchester United gave him the green light to head out the exit door to get some more experience under his belt.
Gore rose up through the academy ranks at Burnley before joining the Red Devils in 2018.
He has since been a regular for the Premier League giants at various different youth levels and made his first-team debut in September 2023 in a Carabao Cup tie against Crystal Palace.
The England youth international has since played once more for his parent club and was loaned out for the first time in January 2024 when Port Vale came calling.
However, he got injured during his time at Vale Park and only featured once for the Valiants.
A similar things has happened to him at Rotherham United this term and Evans said last month, as per the Rotherham Advertiser: “The kid’s devastated. He’s such a talent. I had a beer with some of the Birmingham staff after the game at St Andrew’s and the only player they spoke about was Dan. It’s his little one-twos, his give-and-goes, that little bit of class.”
What now for Rotherham United?
Rotherham United could have Gore back in a matter of weeks which will be a big boost.
The Millers are sat in 14th place in the table and are back in action this weekend at home to Crawley Town.
