On Monday, La Dernière Heure reported Standard Liège and Royal Antwerp are in talks to sign Burnley’s Andréas Hountondji in the winter market.
Later that day, we covered claims from Belgium which stated the 22-year-old has agreed to join Standard Liège, who have to find an agreement with the Clarets.
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report that the Jupiler Pro League side and Burnley agreed a deal on Monday.
The forward will join Standard Liège on loan without a purchase option.
In another post on X, Tavolieri then reported the Burnley attacker arrived in Belgium late on Monday.
He added the Benin international will undergo a medical with Standard Liège on Tuesday. This is likely to take place in the morning as the journalist states the player’s signing should happen later this afternoon.
Hountondji joined Burnley from Caen last summer and played nine Championship games, which includes two starts. The loan move to Standard Liège could help him enjoy regular game time in the second half of this season.
