According to a claim in the Dutch media, Plymouth Argyle are showing serious interest in Sparta Rotterdam defender Mike Eerdhuijzen.

The 24-year-old was linked with transfer to Birmingham City during the last transfer window, but a move to St Andrew’s never materialised due to a failed medical.

De Telegraaf today report on the latest developments regarding the future of Eerdhuijzen as he looks to move on in this transfer window.

Following his failed transfer to Birmingham City, the central defender could be given another opportunity to play in England, with Plymouth Argyle said to be lining up the player.

The Dutch media outlet says the Championship side have approached Sparta Rotterdam. At this stage there are no reports of an offer coming in from the English club.

It's likely Plymouth Argyle will be looking to add to their squad before next month's transfer deadline after finding themselves in a relegation battle.

Eerdhuijzen has made 17 appearances for Sparta Rotterdam this season and is contracted to the Eredivisie club until June 2026.
